Sentiment in the cryptocurrency markets showed signs of improvement as participants responded to indications of a potential peace agreement between the U.S. and Iran. The decline in crude oil prices that ensued, the inflows into U.S.-listed Bitcoin Spot ETF products, along with disappointing labour market data from the U.S., contributed to an improvement in crypto market sentiment. Both crude oil benchmarks have experienced a decline exceeding 4 percent, which has resulted in a decrease in bond yields and subsequently affected the opportunity cost associated with holding cryptocurrencies. The positive sentiment in the financial markets also bolstered sentiment in the cryptocurrency sector. With the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index surging almost 1.6 percent, cryptocurrencies have gained around a quarter percent in the past 24 hours. Bitcoin has reached a 24-hour peak of $64,163 in the context of renewed diplomatic initiatives aimed at alleviating tensions between the U.S. and Iran. The CMC Crypto Fear and Greed Index, which monitors sentiment in the cryptocurrency market, indicates a reading of 36, compared to 35 the previous day. Anxiety persisted following the message from Coldcard wallet’s manufacturer, which urged users to transfer their bitcoin while the exploit remained active. Data reveals that aggregate liquidations reached $157 million over the last 24 hours. While long positions liquidated account for 56 million dollars, short positions liquidated add up to 101 million dollars.

Markets responded to the release of U.S. jobs data on Tuesday morning, which indicated a decline in job openings to 7.36 million in June, down from a revised 7.54 million in the prior month. Markets had anticipated a figure of 7.40 million. Amidst the decline in job openings and the plunge in crude oil prices, expectations for rate hikes from the Fed have also diminished. According to the CME FedWatch tool that monitors the expectations of interest rate traders, the probability of a rate hike by the Federal Reserve in September has decreased to 58.9 percent. It stood at 67.2 percent the previous day. Overall crypto market capitalisation has risen by 0.25 percent overnight, reaching $2.18 trillion, while market leader Bitcoin fluctuated between $64,163 and $63,278 during this timeframe. The rise in total cryptocurrency market capitalisation coincided with a 17.5-percent increase in trading volumes. Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency, is trading 0.34 percent higher at $63,859.77. The current price stands approximately 49 percent lower than the all-time high of $126,198.07, which was recorded on October 7, 2025. The original cryptocurrency’s year-to-date losses are recorded at 27 percent.

Bitcoin Spot ETF products in the U.S. experienced net inflows amounting to $170 million on Monday, contrasting with net outflows of $265 million recorded on Friday. iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF recorded net inflows amounting to $111 million. Bitcoin remains in the 13th position in the global ranking of all assets according to market capitalisation data. The leading cryptocurrency occupies the 13th position, situated between Meta Platforms at 12th and Tesla at 14th. Ethereum is trading 0.26 percent higher at $1,867.23. The leading alternate coin is currently trading at a level that is 62 percent below its all-time high of $4,953.73, which was recorded on August 25, 2025. The 24-hour trading fluctuated between $1,879.52 and $1,847.17. Ethereum has experienced a decline of 37.1 percent year-to-date.
