Crypto Market Rises With Wall Street as Bitcoin Regains Momentum

Wall Street’s robust rally to commence August had a significant impact on crypto markets, resulting in an increase in overall crypto market capitalisation. In its filing on Monday, the Virginia-headquartered company led by Michael Saylor reported sales of 1,638 Bitcoins during the period from July 27 to August 2, totalling $105 million at an average sale price of $63,957. The company’s total Bitcoin holdings have decreased to 842,138, with a cumulative purchase price of $63.51 billion and an average acquisition cost of $75,419.

Anxiety surrounding the exploit in the Coldcard hardware wallet persisted, constraining market gains. Market reports indicate that researchers estimate the attacker has transferred 1816 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $114 million, since July 30. Overall crypto market capitalisation has risen by 0.88 percent overnight to reach $2.18 trillion, while market leader Bitcoin fluctuated between $63,910 and $62,227 during this timeframe. The rise in total cryptocurrency market capitalisation coincided with a 22-percent increase in trading volumes. Data indicates aggregate liquidations of $242 million during the past 24 hours. While short positions liquidated account for $131 million, long positions liquidated add up to $111 million only. Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency, is trading 1.1 percent higher at $63,747.79.
