Crypto Market Bounces Back as Bond Yields and Oil Prices Drop

Cryptocurrencies experienced a rebound early on Friday, coinciding with a halt in the bond selloff and a decrease in crude oil prices. Crude oil price benchmarks have both experienced a decline of over one percent, influenced by reports indicating that the U.S. and Iran were considering a phased agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. A widespread decrease in global bond yields has positively influenced sentiment regarding cryptocurrencies. Ten-year bond yields softened in Canada, Germany, France, the U.K., Italy, Japan, and Australia. However, they strengthened in the U.S., Spain, and Hong Kong. The dollar’s retreat also bolstered sentiment in the cryptocurrency market. The six-currency Dollar Index, which assesses the strength of the U.S. Dollar against a basket of six currencies, is presently at 100.99, indicating a decline of 0.29 percent overnight. At the same time, the probability of a quarter percentage rate increase by the Fed in October has decreased to below 69 percent, as indicated by the CME FedWatch tool.

A significant liquidation of short positions contributed to the increase in cryptocurrency prices.
