Solana, one of the leading layer-1 blockchains, has recorded a significant increase in transaction activity, with its non-vote transaction count more than doubling compared to late 2025. According to a recent announcement by the official Solana account on X, the network processed an impressive 8.92 billion non-vote transactions in the third quarter of 2026. Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, commonly referred to as Toly, offered a succinct remark in response to the milestone. “Put the cryptography into the computer,” he wrote on X, apparently celebrating the blockchain’s growing adoption and activity.
The 104% growth signifies a substantial rise from roughly 4.38 billion transactions documented in the fourth quarter of 2025. In the first quarter of 2026, Solana notably recorded 7.54 billion transactions, followed by a total of 7.19 billion in the second quarter. This indicates that transaction activity rose by roughly 24% on a quarter-over-quarter basis in Q3, countering the decrease noted in the prior quarter. Non-vote transactions hold significant importance in the assessment of blockchain activity, as they omit the standard voting transactions employed by validators to uphold network consensus. Instead, they document engagement related to token transfers, decentralised applications, trading, and various interactions with the blockchain.
The latest figures indicate that Solana persists in witnessing considerable demand for its network infrastructure. Data indicates that the blockchain processed approximately 3.18 billion completed non-vote transactions in September alone, marking its third consecutive monthly record. However, the increasing transaction count does not necessarily correspond to a proportional rise in individual users, as automated trading bots can represent a substantial portion of on-chain activity. Meanwhile, Solana’s native SOL token was trading near the $104 level on Oct. 19, with a market capitalisation of approximately $61 billion.
